Additional lodging options Some conference attendees may wish to balance their higher transportation cost by considering a variety of guest houses (with about a dozen rooms each). Recommended accommodations in the Kemptown neighborhood on New Steine Street. which begins just a few blocks east of The Thistle. Try internet search for these Brighton lodgings ranging in price from £38-£85/night per room - they come recommended: Premier Inn Hotel at 144 North Street, Sea Spray at #25 New Seine, Trouville Hotel at #11 New Seine, Marine View at #24 New Seine and Strawberry Fields at #6-7 New Seine. Brighton Until the 18th Century,
Brighton was a quiet fishing town, much as it had been 700 years earlier
when it appeared in the Domesday Book as Brighthelmstone. Everything
changed in 1750, when Dr Richard Russell promoted the health benefits of
his Brighton sea-water cure: the Prince of Wales (later George IV)
became a convert, fashionable London society followed, and the rest, as
they say, is history. Get 'WABC Right' - Get Brighton! |
